The ground rules for using this site and taking part in DNA events. Written plainly, because neighbors deserve straight talk.

DNA San Bernardino (the "Downtown Neighborhood Association," "DNA," "we," "us," or "our") is a community neighborhood association serving downtown San Bernardino, operating in partnership with CityWay Community Economic Development Corporation. By using this website (dnasanbernardino.org) or taking part in any DNA event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy.
DNA cleanups, community meetings, and related activities are volunteer efforts. Participation is entirely voluntary and is not employment. You will not be paid, and you are not entitled to any wage, salary, benefit, or other compensation for volunteering or attending. Nothing about your participation creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship with DNA or its partners.
Community cleanups and events involve physical activity and take place in public and outdoor spaces. You understand that participation carries inherent risks — including, without limitation, slips, trips and falls, lifting, contact with debris or hazardous materials, weather, traffic, and interactions with others — and that these risks cannot be eliminated. You voluntarily choose to participate and knowingly assume all such risks, whether known or unknown.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and agree not to sue DNA San Bernardino, CityWay Community Economic Development Corporation, and their respective directors, officers, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and partners (the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, injuries, damages, losses, or liability of any kind arising out of or related to your participation in any DNA event, even where caused by ordinary negligence of a Released Party. This release does not apply to liability that cannot be waived under California law (including gross negligence or willful misconduct).
You also agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim brought by you or on your behalf arising out of your participation. If you register a minor or bring one to an event, you accept these terms on their behalf and remain responsible for their supervision and safety.
We may ask anyone to leave an event whose conduct is unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with DNA's community mission.
When you register for an event, you agree to provide accurate information. By providing your email or phone number, you consent to receive event confirmations, reminders, and updates from DNA. You can opt out of email at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing dnasanbernardino@gmail.com. Message and data rates may apply to any text messages.
DNA events are documented for community outreach. By attending, you understand that photos and video may be taken in public settings and used by DNA and its media partners to promote the association's work. If you prefer not to be featured, let a coordinator know at the event.
This site is provided for informational and community purposes. You agree not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it in any unauthorized way. Content on this site (text, graphics, logos) belongs to DNA or its partners and may not be reused without permission. The site may link to third-party sites we do not control and are not responsible for.
This website and DNA events are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep event details accurate, but dates, times, and locations can change. Check the site or contact us to confirm before attending.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or participation in any event.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site or participation in events after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California.
